Natural fibers such as abaca, pandan, silk, and bamboo are carefully processed into strips and yarns. These are colored using natural dyes from barks, roots, and leaves of trees. Different materials are made using these fibers. T'nalak is made from highland abaca, which grows in cool mountain regions of Mindanao. Banis is woven from pandan strips. Inaul is a silk cloth produced in handlooms. Bamboo strips are formed into baskets or bayong. |
